Meyer-Sponsored Olympic Hopeful Feeling Strong in World Cup
With less than 40 days until the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing, Meyer’s
sponsored athlete, US Cross Country Skier, Hannah Halvorsen nailed a personal
best in the World Cup Sprints in Dresden, Germany. As a result, she was invited to
compete in the prestigious International Ski Federation Tour de Ski opening in
Lenzerheide, Switzerland December.
Hannah was a 2018 International World Junior Cross Country Ski Champion and a
2019 National Cross Country Ski Champion when she suffered a major setback just
days away from the first race of the season. Hannah was hit by a car while crossing
the street in Anchorage where she is an Alaska Pacific University Nordic Ski Center
Team Member and student.
Because of sustaining a Traumatic Brain Injury, Skull Fracture, Hematoma, Contusions,
A torn MCL, torn PCL, shattered Tibia Plateau, her season was over.
After a grueling year of rehab and recovery, uncertainty and almost constant pain,
Hannah competed in the World Cup in 2020 and is poised to ski her best season
ever in 2021/22.
