Power and Energy

Power and Energy Bulk Material Processing
The power and energy industry faces unique challenges. With regard to regulatory compliance, stringent rules set by FERC require equipment that operates flawlessly under various conditions. Handling multiple materials, from coal to biomass, also demands versatile and durable processing equipment. In addition, minimizing energy loss and maximizing material throughout are critical for cost-effectiveness and sustainability.
Key Challenges:
Equipment must withstand high temperatures, pressures, and abrasive materials.
Emissions and material waste must be reduced through efficient processing.
Companies must ensure equipment longevity and minimize downtime for repairs or maintenance.
Fly ash is prone to dust generation during handling, posing health risks and regulatory compliance issues. An effective airlock must prevent material leakage and minimize dust emissions to ensure a safe working environment.
The constant flow of abrasive particles can cause significant wear on rotor blades, housing, and other internal components, reducing efficiency and potential failure over time.
Our Expertise and Solutions
At Meyer Industrial, we specialize in providing tailored solutions to meet the specific needs of the energy and power industry. Here’s how we can help:
Our valves serve as critical airlock transition points, preventing loss of air or gas while ensuring a steady material flow between vessels under varying pressures. HDX Heavy-Duty Extra-Tough Drop-Thru rotary airlock valves are designed to withstand high temperatures and pressure differentials up to 22 psi. They also help minimize costly maintenance and downtime.
The Meyer W.E.A.R. (Wear Elimination & Abrasion Reduction) Valve provides the ultimate package for your abrasive material build-up applications. Outfitted with a variety of wear-resistant coatings, it is specifically suited for the materials conveyed. Its unique design injects clean air between the head plate and the closed-end rotor, and conveying air is diverted to each head plate cavity via an engineered orifice plate.
Meyer HDXP Heavy-Duty NFPA design valves are custom-applied units tailored to your specific application. Meyer engineers review the application and evaluate the design based on KST values for the material, temperature, pressure, and ambient conditions. Units can be built in cast iron, stainless, and cast steel to match the specific NFPA requirements. Special XP switches, controls, and motors are added as needed to match the installation environment.
