Flap Gate Valves

What Is A Flap Gate?

Flap gate valves serve a vital function in many dry material handling systems. They serve to convey materials between components while keeping the system sealed and airtight. The chamber at the top of the flap gate valve opens first to allow the material in, then is sealed to prevent leakage. The bottom chamber of the flap gate valve then opens to pass the ingredients through to the next stage of production or processing. Because one valve is always closed, a positive seal is maintained throughout the process.

MEYER-MADE™ Flap Gate Valve products are built tough to perform in systems with elevated temperatures, highly abrasive materials, high-pressure differentials, and irregularly shaped, and oversized materials.

For example, our C-Series is the perfect high-abrasion flap gate valve for use in mining, cement manufacturing, and other industries that feature high-pressure and highly abrasive conditions. The A-Series flap gate is designed to take the place of most rotary valves, offering longer lifespans when used in dust collection and precipitation applications.
